Position your baby's hips and thighs in a spread-squat ("M") shape with knees supported higher than the bottom, rather than hanging straight down, which helps support healthy hip development. Front-facing-outward and back-carrying positions are generally not appropriate until a baby has strong, independent head and neck control, typically from around 4 to 6 months; confirm the manufacturer's specific age guidance for each position before use. Never leave a baby unattended in the carrier, and check regularly that their airway is clear, especially during feeding or sleep in the carrier.
